Lumbres continues Carla’s formal investigation into drawing and its multiple trajectories. Excavation and burr remain central to the artist’s imagination, as both process and narrative: a material gesture inherited from printmaking that shifts and evolves, seeking new visual inscriptions between memory and imagination.

In this series of works, the support becomes a moorland of lysergic light inhabited by brass creatures. A fine veil of black gold settles over the surface of the canvas, breaking the saturation of the landscape until it transforms into a mire. The series incorporates the metallic soul that runs through the artist’s sculptural practice: joints, rivets, tensions, and balances migrate from object to drawing, becoming the foundational elements of the image.
